Lenoir-Rhyne University is seeking an innovative, collaborative leader to become the next dean of the Charles M. Snipes College of Business and Economics. Lenoir-Rhyne University is an ACBSP-accredited institution offering undergraduate majors in business administration, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, finance, and economics on our Hickory, NC campus. We also have a Master’s in Business Administration program that operates on the Hickory campus and on our campus in Asheville, NC.

The Dean represents faculty and students on both campuses but will be based in Hickory. The ideal candidate will be adept at developing and nurturing partnerships across campus and in the community; will share the university’s commitment to DEI, global education, and vocational discernment; will be a responsive communicator who functions as an advocate for the College; and will have a clear record of teaching excellence and scholarship. We are particularly interested in candidates who are committed to building strong relationships with regional employers and other educational institutions to help develop partnerships and programs that will help LR grow and prepare students to meet the evolving needs of the region’s employers. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in one of the disciplines represented in the College and should have reached the level of Associate Professor (with preference given to those who have achieved the rank of Professor).

Founded in 1891, Lenoir-Rhyne University is a co-educational, private liberal arts institution with more than 50 undergraduate degree programs and over 30 graduate degree programs. LR enrolls more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students and has had 11 consecutive years of enrollment growth. LR’s main campus is in Hickory, North Carolina, where both undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered.
