Mississippi State University (MSU) invites nominations and applications for the next Dean of the College of Business. The college and university are looking for a visionary leader with a record of excellence who will continue to guide and grow the College of Business into the future. MSU is a comprehensive, doctoral degree-granting institution with a nationally and internationally diverse student body. The Dean is the chief academic and executive officer of the College of Business, reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President. Through the campus-wide Dean’s Council, the Dean contributes to decisions affecting the university as well as the College of Business. The incoming Dean will have a strong foundation upon which to build, with faculty known for their research productivity and teaching excellence, and a college dedicated to outreach. The successful candidate will possess the leadership skills, vision and enthusiasm for the college’s commitment to academic excellence.


The college is fully accredited by AACSB and comprised of 90 full-time faculty across its four academic units. The college enrolls nearly 3,700 students across undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. programs. The college staff, comprised of 39 employees, work in a wide variety of areas including student support, recruitment, marketing and promotion. The college has a budget of more than $15 million and endowments of more than $52 million. The new Dean will collaborate with the faculty and staff of the college in the management of the college’s teaching, research and service activities for both the Starkville and Meridian campuses.
